Inclusive Schools & Belonging

Inclusive Schools

Creating opportunities for students to be seen, be heard, and be a full member of the general education setting is what every parent wants for their child. Too often, many students with Individual Education Plans (IEPs) find themselves in segregated classrooms with only a few moments a day spent with their general education peers. Axis Education Group works tirelessly to advocate for students and families. We partner with districts to take a holistic view of education and begin to dismantle the systems and structures that segregate students from each other.

Belonging

Axis Education Group supports leaders, boards, and communities who want to transform the learning environment for each child who enters our schools. Belonging is one of the greatest challenges confronting schools today.

We have experts who are on the front line of schools and communities working to build a more equitable education system. School equity starts with the board of education and the policies they champion. Equity needs to have leaders who are willing and able to listen, understand, and stand with and be allies of our Black, Latino, Asian, and Indigenous students.

Axis Partners understand the impact of belonging on our scholars. Student advocacy has become one of the most powerful movements in education and politics today. Student voices matter, and it is time to listen. Our team has worked in schools for decades and has moved worked with our scholars to determine structures that they believe will lift their voice so they can create the change that they want and need.

Community Conversations

We believe in the goodness of all humanity. This principle drives our Axis Community Conversations. We provide an avenue for community members to come to the table and build a more instructive and purposeful road map forward. We are not interested in creating debates where there are “winners and losers”. Our approach is about lifting the spirit of its citizens to encourage sustained community conversation and engagement. The topics of race, inclusion, equity, and sexual identity are not easy conversations, and we take the time that is needed to cultivate honest, thoughtful conversations with the goal of achieving the intended outcome.
